Smith & Wesson .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1950 Army (Pre-Model 22) Double Action Revolver, #S92872, .45 ACP cal., 5.5" barrel, blue finish, checkered diamond center walnut Magna grips with S&W medallions, round blade front sight, standard notched rear sight, with color case hardened hammer and trigger. Mfg'd ca. 1952-1953. Frame and yoke with matching assembly numbers (8597). Barrel, cylinder, extractor, and right grip are numbered to the gun. Right side of the barrel is marked "45 CAL. MODEL 1950". Condition is excellent retaining approx. 97-98% blue. Light muzzle wear and cylinder index line accounts for the finish loss. Otherwise, showing only a small amount of light handling marks. Case colors are strong, nearly all remain. The "N" in Smith & Wesson on the left side of the barrel is a little light, other factory lettering is clear. There is an impression to the bottom edge of the right grip, otherwise both show little handling wear; checkering detail is crisp. Action cycles smoothly and locks up securely. Bore is bright with well-defined rifling. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
