American made 6-round double and single-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, and manufactured in Springfield, MA. It was built on a three screw stainless steel round-butt 'K' service frame, and produced from 1972 until 2004. This is basically a stainless steel version of the Model 13 without the extractor shroud, and the Model 65-3 was introduced in 1983. Revolver features a with a 3" heavy barrel, fixed serrated ramp front sight, notched frame rear sight, smooth curved combat trigger, external hammer with a checkered spur, firing pin on hammer nose, transfer bar safety, checkered cylinder release, knurled ejector rod head, non-shrouded ejector rod, fluted 1.62" cylinder with gas ring, smooth grip straps, and checkered walnut Magna grips with gold-toned S&W medallions on both sides. The original stainless steel metal finish retained is approximately 98% with very light scattered scratches, and a light drag line on the cylinder. Metal displays no rust, but it shows a few small scattered nicks. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and cylinders look excellent. Action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up. Wood grips are in excellent condition with little to speak of. Revolver includes the original blue factory cardboard box, manual, and a Tyler T-Grip (adds finger grooves to the front strap).
Condition is NRA Very Good.
