Revolver, Double-action. 6-rd capacity. early lend-lease revolver that went to the British during WW2. Built on a square butt K frame. 5" round pinned barrel, with 1/10" round front sight blade, and notch cut rear service sights. Sand blasted "Black Magic" war-time finish . Case-hardened trigger, and hammer. Serrated trigger. Smooth walnut grips. Lanyard rind on butt. All correct S&W markings in place. Left topstrap marked "United States Property". British proofed on barrel, frame, and cylinder. Flaming bomb, and G.H.D. on butt. (Inspector Guy H. Drewry, 1930-1957) 568,204 guns were manufactured c. 1940-1945. Note* Revolver's grips are stamped on both panels, with Asian characters. (Chinese) We could not find any reference to this in the literature. (See Photos) Action is crisp/tight. Bore, and cylinder chambers appear excellent/bright, but a little dirty. Grips are excellent. war-time finish has some wear to the edges, fading. Some minor scratches present.
