Smith & Wesson Model 24-3 Double Action Revolver, #ABZ5579, .44 Spec. cal., 4" barrel, blue finish, with two-piece smooth ivory grips. Sights include a ramped blade front and square-notched rear adjustable for windage and elevation. Revolver features a color case hardened, grooved trigger and checkered semi-target hammer. Serial number is written in pencil on back of each grip. Condition is excellent. Approx. 98%+ original factory blue remains. Cylinder with a thin index line. Barrel and frame with intermittent minor handling marks. Case colors are strong. Grips fit well and are in excellent condition. Action cycles smoothly and the cylinder locks up well. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is a little bit of powder fouling to the cylinder face which indicates that this revolver has been fired, but it does not appear to have been fired often. The Model 24-3 was only mfg'd ca. 1983-1984, with approx. 7,500 total revolvers produced. Approx. 2,625 were the 4" barrel variation. Est.: $1,200-$1,500. (Modern/PPT)
