Smith & Wesson Model 76 SMG 9mm SN: U1809
Fully-transferable select-fire open bolt submachine gun chambered in 9x19mm. Manufactured in Springfield, MA circa 1967-1974. The S&W 76 was inspired by the Swedish K (M/45) used by the Navy Seals and came about when the Swedish government blocked firearm sales to the United States in protest of the Vietnam War. Features a parkerized finish, 8" barrel with ventilated metal shroud, shrouded post front sight, fixed aperture rear sight, smooth trigger, ambidextrous three-position fire selector (safe, semi-auto & full-auto), OEM 36 round stick magazine, cylindrical charging handle, tubular receiver, sling points, checkered black synthetic pistol grip, and left-side-folding metal skeleton stock with rubber overmold. Non-Standard Markings: “723” stamped & “DPD” engraved with electric pencil on the right side of the receiver, above the pistol grip (likely police department markings). Machine gun exhibits approximately 97% of its original phosphate finish showing minor contact wear on the bolt & stock locking mechanism, scattered light scuffs, some black paint around the sling points and a bright drag line from the fire selector. Action is mechanically sound in all three fire modes, the bore is pristine and the stocks are fine. Condition is NRA Excellent ***NFA Firearm*** ***Fully Transferable***
