SN: 2754 Antique large frame single action top-break revolver chambered in .44 Smith & Wesson, manufactured in Springfield, MA circa 1880. Features an old nickel plated refinish, 6.5” ribbed barrel, round blade front sight, ‘u’ notch rear sight cut into the “T” shaped barrel latch, smooth trigger, blued triggerguard, knurled wide hammer spur, fluted six-shot cylinder with automatic extractor, lanyard ring on the butt and smooth walnut grips. Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel, barrel latch, cylinder, right grip panel and a partial number visible on the butt “4”. Includes a factory letter stating the models history, confirming its current configuration as original (with the exception of the grips originally being checkered) and stating it was shipped August 15, 1880 to M. W. Robinson of New York, NY in a 40 gun shipment (all of the some configuration) billed at $13.00 each. Revolver retains approximately 85% of its vintage nickel plated refinish showing scattered wear, losses and superficial scratches. The grip straps are cloudy. Action is sound with very good lock-up, the bore is good, the markings are very good and the matching wood grips are good as worn smooth. Condition is NRA Very Good as refinished. ***Antique Firearm***
