Smith & Wesson No. 3 Russian Brevette .44
SN: 6459 Antique copy of the Smith & Wesson No 3 large frame single action top-break revolver chambered in .44 Russian, manufactured circa 1870’s – 1880’s with a strong probability of Spanish origin. Features a nickel plated finish, ribbed 7” barrel, pinned round blade front sight, ‘v’ notch rear sight cut into the top of the “T” shaped barrel latch, smooth trigger, finger rest trigger guard, knurled wide hammer spur, fluted six-shot cylinder with automatic extractor, round butt steel frame with lanyard ring and custom horn grips. The butt is stamped “6459”, the cylinder “459” and the outside of the top strap “1072.” Revolver retains approximately 65% its nickel plated finish showing heavy finish loss on the frame & cylinder with an aged brown patina in its place. Action is sound with good lock-up, the bore is fair and the ill-fitting horn grips are good with small losses. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***Antique Firearm***
