A Snider-Enfield Mark II* single-shot Cadet Carbine 19" barrel with a blackpowder bore chambered in .577 Snider. Wood Stock, Antique. Front steel bead sight, adjustable rear sight. The trigger plate is dated 1860. This rifle was initially issued to the 31st Grey Battalion of Infantry (now the Grey and Simcoe Foresters), rack number 254. Needs a new firing pin.

The Snider-Enfield Cadet Carbine was a modification of the Snider-Enfield service rifles by cutting the barrels and stocks down to cavalry carbine length and fixing a plain bead to the barrel for use by Army Cadets.
