NVSN. Early British military breech loading conversion of a muzzle loading Enfield musket chambered for the .477 Boxer cartridge. Circa 1860s. Features a blued finish with a 28" barrel, fixed blade front sight/bayonet lug, tangent rear sight graduated to 950m, two barrel bands, brass end cap, steel cleaning rod, rounded trigger, brass trigger guard with a sling swivel, 1861 dated Enfield lock. firing pin cover, cupped hammer face, full length straight walnut shoulder stock with brass buttplate and includes original bayonet with reproduction scabbard. Breech lock is marked 'BSA Co.', lock is marked '[crown]/VR', receiver '2/*/*', stock 'DC' inside of a diamond, and a round cartouche 'R[crown]M-Enfield/1'. Rifle exhibits approximately 40% of its original blued finish showing scattered light surface rust and pitting with a balance of metal surfaces displaying age grey/brown patina. Action is mechanically sound, bore is bright with sharp rifling and some scattered light surface rust and the wood stock is very good+ with some minor blemishes.
