Experience classic European mountain hunting in the rugged mountains of southern Spain. This incredible hunt takes place in the Sierra de los Filabres in Andalusia, one of Spain’s premier hunting regions and home to both the Sierra Nevada Ibex and the Spanish Red Stag.
This traditional mountain hunt is conducted by spot-and-stalk, where hunters and professional guides glass the steep terrain for mature animals before carefully closing the distance for the shot. The terrain is dramatic and challenging, offering a true European mountain hunting experience at elevations of over 6,500 feet.
The Iberian Red Stag hunt typically takes place during the September–October rut, when mature stags gather harems and challenge rivals, creating one of the most exciting hunting experiences in Europe.

Lodging & Accommodations
Hunters will stay in a comfortable countryside hotel located in the heart of the Andalusian mountains, providing a scenic and relaxing base for the hunt. The lodge offers full service accommodations with excellent hospitality and traditional regional cuisine.
Meals are prepared using the fresh ingredients and culinary traditions that Andalusia is known for, including local meats, seafood, vegetables, and the region’s famous extra virgin olive oils. Evenings are spent enjoying authentic Spanish food and hospitality while sharing stories from the day’s hunt in one of the most historic regions of Spain.
