Special South Africa Donation, Leopard Project with PHASA and SCIF
We want hunters and outfitters to have a positive experience.

Expectations of hunters:

1) Bring another hunter and extend the hunt if feasible

2) Hunt from the outfitter's price list after harvesting donated trophies if additional game are
available and tip generously

A donation may not be combined on another hunting trip unless outfitter agrees prior to auction.
This one-of-a-kind donation is sponsored by Tam Safaris and The Professional Hunters Association of South Africa Foundation (PHASA Foundation) in conjunction with Safari Club International Foundation (SCIF).

The Leopard Conservation Project – PHASA and SCIF
All proceeds from this donation will be used for a special wildlife conservation project that the winning bidder will be able to participate in while in South Africa. SCIF and PHASA Foundation are heading a major wildlife conservation and hunting sustainability project to make an inventory of the leopard population in South Africa. The project includes placing thousands of trail cameras throughout the country. This project is critical to managing the leopard population, including the hunting of an appropriate number of these cats in South Africa, which has been largely disallowed for the past decade. This work will also be used to inventory all species of wildlife, but the immediate concern is the leopard. Imagine being part of an initiative that will change the management of wildlife in South Africa for the foreseeable future.

Winning bidder will be picked up at OR Tambo Airport by PHASA Foundation personnel and they will drive together to the farm (4 hours) where the team will be deploying trail cameras. You will participate in the project and stay at a lodge with the team for 2 nights, accommodation and meals included. This part of the trip also includes game drives and other activities on the farm.

PHASA Foundation staff will then transport you back to Pretoria for two days of entertainment. This part of the trip will include various iconic sites in and around Pretoria, for example, Voortrekker monument, botanical garden, curio shops, and the PHASA / SCI office in Irene. Accommodation and meals are also included.

Tam Safaris - 7-day White Rhino Vita-Dart and Golden Wildebeest Safari
Tam Safaris is renowned for exceptional trophy quality, personalized service, and an authentic South African hunting experience. Their hunts are conducted within the uniquely diverse habitat of high-mountain veldt; open, flat grassland alongside semi-desert thorn scrub; dramatic vistas and the exotic rock formations of magnificent landscapes totaling 60,000 acres of privately-owned land in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. This hunt is for 7 days and includes a Rhino dart experience and trophy fees for Golden Wildebeest.

Amy Bell School in Cradock
SCI members are familiar with the Bell Family Blue Bag program. It all started on safari with Irvin Tam. Irvin took Amy to visit a small community project for orphaned children. The Bell and Tam families, together with other hunters, worked to greatly improve this facility, barely a shed at the time, into the Amy Bell Centre for Children and the Amy Bell School in Cradock. The film “In My Footsteps” tells this story and shows the impact it has had on many lives. Winners will have the opportunity to learn more about these projects and serve needy children while on safari with Irvin Tam.

Included in Tam safari package: 7 days guided hunting (1X1) for one hunter and one nonhunter, luxury lodge accommodations, meals, laundry, drinks, guide service and trophy fees for one vita-darted White Rhino and one Golden Wildebeest, and trophy field prep for Golden Wildebeest

Not included in Tam safari package: Airfare, hotels before and after safari, tag fee ($2,800), transport to and from Port Elizabeth ($395 round trip per group?), firearm permits, dip and pack, rifle rental at $40/day (outfitter waives this charge for hunters who upgrade the safari – discuss with outfitter), and gratuities
