Refinished U.S. Military breechloading single-shot rifle chambered in .45-70 Government, circa 1883. Features a blued refinish, 29.5" tapered barrel with two bands, blade front sight, graduated rear sight to 1,500 yards, sling swivels, cleaning rod, serrated trigger, checkered hammer spur, and full length walnut shoulder stock with "U.S." marked metal buttplate. Markings: Breech - "U.S." Stock - circled "P", "A", "SWP/1890" and "SWP" over an illegible date. Barrel - V/P/Eagle Head/P and "A" & Lock - "U.S./Springfield/1873" and eagle/arrows. Rifle retain approximately 90% of it's blued refinish on the barrel which shows muzzle wear and light handling marks/wear. The breech and upper tang retain a considerable amount of case hardening which may be original. Action is sound, bore is very good, and wood stock is fine. Condition is very good **Antique Firearm***
