U.S. Military breechloading single-shot service rifle chambered in .45-70 Government, circa 1866. Features a blued/case hardened finish, 32.6" tapered barrel, two barrel bands, blade front sight, Buffington adjustable rear sight, sling swivels, cleaning rod, serrated trigger, checkered hammer spur, and full length walnut shoulder stock with "U.S." marked metal buttplate. Markings: Breech - "U.S./Model/1873". Barrel - V/P/Eagle Head, "A" & "P". Lock - "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" & eagle/arrows. Rifle exhibits a nice even brown patina on the barrel & lock and a dark patina on the receiver & hammer. Action is sound, bore is very good, and wood stock is good showing a fine crack on the left side of the receiver & numerous small blemishes throughout. Condition is very good. ***Antique Firearm***
