U.S. military sub-caliber bolt action training rifle designed to mimic the M1903 rifle and chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Manufactured at the Springfield Armory circa 1924-1933 as a 1922 MI and subsequently upgraded to the 1922 MII pattern. Features a parkerized finish, 24.5” barrel marked “S A/[flaming bomb]/12-25”, dovetailed blade front sight with removable hood, adjustable Lyman 48 receiver mounted aperture sight, in-the-white M2 bolt with swept back handle, three-position flag safety on the rear of the bolt, checkered cocking piece, serrated curved trigger, 5 round detachable magazine, and pistol grip walnut stock with grasping grooves on the forend, single barrel band, checkered metal buttplate & 13 1/8” LOP. Rifle retains approximately 90% of its arsenal finish showing light wear with some minor oxidation/rust on the rear sight, bolt head & upper tang. The action is mechanically sound, the bore is excellent/bright, and the walnut stock is very good with blemishes, appears refinished, and has a “P” inside a circle & “S. A./R” boxed cartouche.
Condition is NRA Good.
