This is a limited production of the M1 Garand rifle as done by Springfield Armory to commemorate D-day. The rifle itself is in mint condition externally and is marked as number 1267 of 1944 produced.
The op rod is marked 'D-Day Normandy, June 6, 1944'. The right side of the buttstock has been laser etched with the Normandy beach scene, and the left side features a quote from General Eisenhower's speech to the Armed Forces.
A military style wood crate, a cleaning kit and a rifle carrying case are included.
