U.S. M1-C Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, by Springfield Armory, #3168507, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel marked ''SA 11-44'', parkerized finish, walnut stock with correct ''SA/GAW'' and small Ordnance wheel cartouches, with correct WWII production Kay Leather Products brown leather cheekpiece. Topped with Griffin & Howe mounts holding a Lyman Alaskan scope with rubber eyepiece and steel sunshade. Original WWII era lock-bar sights are retained. Scope ring assembly is numbered 3345053. Three-screw and riveted mount are numbered 3168507, matching the receiver. An unmarked M2 flash hider is included, as is a period correct carrying case for the scope. (Ref. the book, ''The M1 Garand 1936 to 1957'', color insert page, by Joe Poyer and Craig Riesch.) Condition is excellent, appearing possibly unissued, and showing little use. Metal parts retain approx. 98% parkerized finish. Stock with only the lightest marks from handling. Good action, mirror bright bore, clear scope optics. Est.: $4,000-$6,000.
