U.S. M1-D Garand Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, by Springfield Armory, #2891691, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel marked ''S-A-9-52'', parkerized finish, WWII cartouched walnut stock, 2-52 dated MRT marked leather cheekpiece, and U.S. M84 telescopic sight with rubber eye cup and sunshade. Rifle additionally features post-war green canvas sling, green canvas M65 scope cover, and M2 flash hider by Hart Mfg. Co. Butt trap contains oiler, cleaning rod and combination handle. Receiver was originally mfg'd in late Spring 1944. Walnut stock is lightly cartouched with what appears to be ''S.A./GAW'', which is the correct factory stock for this receiver number. Includes CMP paperwork serialized to this firearm. (Ref. the book, ''The M1 Garand 1936 to 1957'', page 189, by Joe Poyer and Craig Riesch.) Condition is excellent with one small impression beneath scope attaching nut to left side of stock. Finish has only thinned at highest edges of sight protector and tip of op-rod handle.
