This rifle was the property of competition shooter Scott Riles, see item 137763 for more details. Semiautomatic rifle features blue/parkerized finish, walnut stock with butt trap, brown fiberglass handguard, 22" barrel marked "M.A.C. BJO 3643 308-11 64", USGI military contract M14 barrel produced during the Vietnam War, Malta Manufacturing Company (or sometimes referenced as Malta Aircraft Corporation), BJO, lot or heat code. 308-11, It is a .308 caliber (7.62mm NATO) barrel with a 1-in-11" twist rate, which was the standardized target twist used to stabilize the military's 147–173 grain standard and match ammunition. 6/64, June 1964. S.A. op rod, hammer & safety, HR trigger housing, ported muzzle brake/stabilizer with sight base, bayonet lug, blade front sight with protective ears, adjustable rear peep sight with plastic cover, sling swivels, manual safety, stripper clip guide on receiver (guide has a very small hole drilled in it), accepts detachable magazines. Buttplate has hinged cover over trap door. Bore is excellent/bright. Retains 98% metal finish, with scratches and scuffs, minor finish loss on bolt. Stock is excellent condition with handling marks. Handguard is excellent condition. Good condition green nylon USGI type sling. No magazine.
