SN: 508611 Last of a long line of Springfield Trapdoor models to serve the U.S. Government troops. Has the long "Rod Bayonet" unique to this model. Re-blued finish, Lock marked with the U.S. Eagle and "U.S. Springfield". Breech block shows "U.S. Model 1884". Nicely refinished and urethane straight grip stock with 2 barrel bands and sling swivels still attached, 32 1/2" barrel with adjustable Buffington rear sight graduated to 1500 yards. Marked "R". U.S. marked curved buttplate, faint inspectors cartouche on left wrist, right buttstock unit stamped "E 5 11" Action is crisp/tight. Bore is very good/bright. Wood is good/refinished. Metal finish is very good as re-blued. A seldom seen variation with an unusual bayonet. NRA Condition-Good/Re-Finished. Antique Firearm
