SN: 367597 US military single shot rifle manufactured circa 1885. Features 32" barrel, blade front sight, "R" marked rear sight with elevator ladder, no cleaning rod, sling swivels, stacking swivel, external hammer, straight gripped walnut stock, curved steel buttplate. Bore is dark, with areas of rust. Metal surfaces show a silvery gray color, with brown tones throughout. Wood is good condition, appears lightly sanded, with no inspectors cartouche visible, and faint "P" proof. Stamp of "G 34" on the comb froward of the "U.S." marked buttplate. There is a chip behind the nosecap, and along the left forearm where it meets the barrel. Breech block is dated 1884. Barrel marked over chamber "V / P / (eagle head)", "P". Lock plate markings are clear. Action is crisp/tight. Comes with correct issue U.S. marked bayonet, no scabbard. Bayonet has some pitting/rust. NRA Condition-Very Good as Antique Firearm.
