American Civil War era double action percussion revolver (cap and ball) features blued finish, one piece walnut grip, 6" barrel with loading lever underneath, blade front sight, rear sight notch on hammer nose, 6 shot unfluted cylinder, double action only (DAO) trigger, large head finger screw for disassembly. Bore is poor condition, dark with rust, some rifling visible. Metal surfaces show a fairly even thin patina brown color with darker gray color on cylinder and in protected areas, mostly smooth textured with erosion and pits around barrel breech and top strap, bare metal at edges. Some deeper bright bluing visible just below steps in frame. Gouge mid barrel across top. Wood grips are good serviceable condition with dents & dings. Action is heavy, trigger will operate action if pulled sharply, action hangs up on a slow pull. Trigger rest and cylinder lock-up are weak or intermittent. Address, patent markings on sides of frame and serial number on cylinder are deep & even. "B" stamping on barrel, frame & top strap. Three punch marks in a row above right side of grip.
