"Boys Rifle", an American made single-shot rolling breech block rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle, and manufactured in Chicopee Falls, MA. The No. 14-1/2 Little Scout was in production circa 1909 - 1936, and Stevens was well known for making this type of rifle. Rifle features a color-case receiver finish, an approximately 18" round blued barrel, fixed blade front sight, dovetailed 'V' notched rear sight, smooth nearly straight trigger, metal trigger guard, shell extractor, external hammer with a serrated spur, takedown screw in front of the trigger guard, and a knurled breech block knob. The refinished hardwood furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, and a smooth crescent metal butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 88% with slight edge wear, and light handling marks. The color-case receiver finish is almost cleaned, and the metal is pitted. Metal displays a bent breech block handle, screw slot deformation, and pitting with accompanied oxidation along the barrel. Furniture wood is in fair condition with handling marks, and cracking around the tangs. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore shows rifling with use, and some oxidation. No serial numbers were observed, and the markings are sharp and legible.
Condition is NRA Fair.
