Vintage American made single-shot bolt action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. The Model 15 was produced in Chicopee Falls, MA. from 1937 to 1947 under the Springfield name. Many of these rifles were manufactured for department stores like Montgomery Wards, J.C. Penny, Cotter & Co., etc. Rifle features a blued finished single-piece barrel and receiver construction, approximately 22" barrel (rifled portion of firearm), fixed blade front sight, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight, smooth curved trigger, metal trigger guard, turned down bolt handle, knurled cocking knob (manually cocked), and no manual safety. The Birchwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, and a smooth stock butt with no plate or recoil pad. The original blued finish retained is approximately 95% with light edge wear, and minor handling marks. Metal displays slight deformation in the rear sight screw slot, and oxidative speckling was observed along the barrel and receiver. Action works very well, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Furniture wood is in good condition with scattered handling blemishes, and thinning finish at the pistol gripped and butt.
Condition is NRA Near Good.
