Unusual Antique British Over-Under Double Barrel Percussion Belt or Boarding Pistol, NVSN, .54 cal., 4.375'' barrels marked ''C.P. Swinburn & Son London'' on top flat with proof marks at left side, have a lower rib with captive stirrup-style button-head ramrod; finely-engraved steel frame has a naval-style spring-steel belt hook at left side, matching engraved hammers (the right one with an elongated, tube-type nose to reach the lower nipple), engraved trigger guard, twin triggers, and long top/bottom tangs retaining the two-piece finely-checkered English walnut grips having a vacant German silver oval at wrist and fluted/engraved buttcap with hinged door opening to a butt trap for percussion caps. Mfg'd ca. 1850s-60s. Condition is near fine. Metal surfaces retain good traces of original blue in protected areas and are otherwise smooth, light gunmetal gray with sharp edges, markings and engraving. Grips are sound and smooth and retain sharp checkering. Actions are stout; smoothbores are bright and clean. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
