Taino. PreColumbian. Exceptional bone, Anthropic effigy (cemi). An interesting design format with a well defined dental battery rather than gaping mouth. As we know the teeth represents an open mouth. Considering this switch we have the standard cohoba drug pose round eyes, opened mouth full of teeth,hands on knees and sitting. This is probably the carving of an ancestor as a large majority of Taino art is considered physical prompts for ancestor worship or spiritual inquiry. Manatee bone. Length 3.4 inches. BIDDING
Bidding advances shall be regulated by the auctioneer and shall be at his discretion. He or she has the right to refuse any bids. Some of the items offered at auction are subject to a reserve. A reserve is a minimum price agreed upon by the consignor of the property and the auction house. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of the consignor in order to reach the minimum sale amount.
