Texas Big Game Capture and Research
Texas Parks and Wildlife
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department invites you to participate in a big game (mule deer, pronghorn, or bighorn sheep) capture to radio-collar, sample, and/or translocate any one of the big game species mentioned above.
One person and one guest will get an opportunity of a lifetime to assist biologists in critical conservation work during one big game capture during the Fall 2022 or Winter 2023. Mule deer research captures will occur in Fall 2022 (October) and potential bighorn sheep and/or pronghorn translocation captures will happen in Winter 2023 (December 2022 for bighorn sheep; January 2023 for pronghorn). Captures are usually multi-day so you could participate in the entire capture event or just the days you wish. The winner will be notified a month in advance of any big game capture and included in scheduling of events to make appropriate arrangements. This donation does not include meals, hotel accommodations or transportation from your departure point to the designated town from which projects will be based, or to the remote capture area.
