The John Breen Buck, shot in northern Minnesota in 1918, is considered by many whitetail experts to be the greatest typical ever, despite the fact that at 202 net Boone & Crocket points he’s several notches down the list from No. 1.

This isn’t an attempt to take anything away from the incredible trophies that outscore him, but few other typical bucks can approach this buck’s “shock value.”

2018 marks the 100 year anniversary that a hunter named John Breen took a great deer in the Minnesota North Woods of Beltrami County. The "Breen Buck" eventually would score 202-0/8 by the Boone & Crockett Club and would be recognized as the first B&C World Record Typical Whitetail Deer.
