Bring a friend and hunt the iconic Bison at one of 3 free ranging bison herds in the lower 48 states (the House Rock Herd). You will hunt bison on the North Kaibab National Forest, which was originally protected by President Theodore Roosevelt as the first big game preserve to protect the mule deer herd that lives on the Kaibab Plateau. While you are hunting, your spouse and/or friends can enjoy the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon, take in the educational activities hosted by the Park Service, learn about the history of the area, and even hike to the Colorado River if you want. The Grand Canyon lodge is listed as a landmark on the National Historic Register and offers restaurants, shopping, and of course views of one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
If you are not successful on your hunt on the Kaibab, you will get a second chance at your bison on the Raymond WMA. This hunt is a little more controlled, but the likelihood of you getting your bison is nearly 100% as the AZ Game and Fish Department staff at the WMA will assist you in finding bison on the WMA.
What is included:
A once in a lifetime bison tag good for a calendar year and is valid for hunting either of the two bison herds in Arizona. The House Rock herd lives on the north rim of the Grand Canyon National Park and the North Kaibab National Forest. This would be the first bison herd you will be hunting. If you are not successful you will hunt the Raymond WMA herd, which is a high success hunt where the population is located about 40 miles southeast of historic Flagstaff, AZ.
6 Nights stay in an historic cabin (sleeps up to 6 people) located at the Grand Canyon Lodge at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, and to close out your experience you have 2 nights stay in downtown Flagstaff.
Assisting you and your companion on your Arizona adventure will be the West Region Director for PF/QF who lives in Arizona. He will provide you with recommendations on a guide if you choose to use a guide. If you want the do it yourself experience he will help you plan your hunt to time your hunt to ensure you are the only person hunting bison while you are in Arizona, recommendations on how to hunt this bison herd, and provide some insight on spots to find your bison. He will also provide your guests with recommendations on hikes, day trips, and coordinate with AZ Game and Fish on your behalf if you decide to hunt the Raymond Ranch herd after your North Rim Experience.
