Domaine Serene Brand

In just over three decades, Domaine Serene has taken its place on the global stage as one of the world’s most acclaimed wineries. Through the continuous pursuit of quality and innovation through the art of the blend, Domaine Serene has garnered global recognition as an iconic quality leader of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with nearly 200 50+ scores of over 1,000 90+ scores from critics such as Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Wine Enthusiast. In 2013, Domaine Serene even achieved the #1 Pinot Noir in the world by Wine Spectator with their flagship wine, the ‘Evenstad Reserve’ Pinot Noir. Following that, Domaine Serene achieved the #1 white wine in the world with the 2014 vintage of their flagship ‘Evenstad Reserve’ Chardonnay.

Grace and Ken Evenstad had faith in Oregon early on, before there was a national market for domestic Pinot Noir. In 1989, they invested in a 42-acre hilltop estate in the beautiful Dundee Hills of Oregon, built a state-of-the-art five-level gravity flow winery, and thus established Domaine Serene, effectively creating Oregon’s luxury wine industry. Since then, Domaine Serene has expanded to specialize in not just Pinot Noir, but Chardonnay and sparkling wine as well. Today, Domaine Serene produces wines from seven individual vineyard estates in the Willamette Valley that offer a diversity of soils, clones, rootstocks, microclimates, slopes, and elevations that add distinguishing complexity and elegance to the wines. Domaine Serene has expanded to 1,000 acres, 50 planted to Chardonnay and 300 planted to Pinot Noir. Now, Grace Evenstad returns to the place that first inspired her and her husband to make wine in the 60s – Burgundy, France.

In 2015, the Evenstads expanded upon their original vision of producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay by purchasing Château de la Crée, a Burgundy wine estate in the Côte d’Or. Now, Grace Evenstad owns 35 parcels in Burgundy throughout the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, including rare Grand Cru parcels like Bonnes Mares and Clos de Vougeot. Complex, world-class wines are produced through their labels Château de la Crée and Maison Evenstad. In addition to the château, they have most recently opened another winery and tasting room in Santenay called Domaine Evenstad, meant to share the love and education of the lands and wines of Burgundy.
