SN: 5522. Imported by Interarms, Alex. VA. marked on right frame. Semi-Automatic. Usage continued through the end of WW2. Produced by Tokyo arsenal with the 4 cannon balls stamp on the chamber. Model markings , "Type Nambu", on the right over the serial number Two "Kanji" stamps on the left side. "Army Type" 4.75" barrel with front triangle font sight, and tangent rear sights, serrated cocking piece. Left mounted guide rod. Grip safety on the fore strap. Fore strap is slotted to drop down the trigger group for disassembly. Lanyard swivel mounted on the rear of the fame. Matching serial numbers on frame, bolt, and backside of cocking knob. Mismatched nickel magazine with aluminum, checkered base, # 268", mag has some light pitting. Checkered, contoured grips. Bore has rifling with light pitting in the grooves. Action is crisp/tight. Smooth trigger has just traces of the straw finish, some spots of rust. Wood grips are sound with minor scratches/dings and a very narrow 2" chip out of the front left panel. There are 3 Japanese symbols painted on the left panel. Blued finish is about 70% with some minor edge wear. There are scattered areas of spots of pin-prick pitting. There is deeper pitting on the back & fore straps with handling loss, around the muzzle, and a spot on the right barrel. NRA Condition-Fair to good. C&R Firearm.
