'1902 Navy' Pistol. Semi-Automatic. The first Nambu, Type A. The "Papa, Grandpa Nambu". About 10,500 produced. About 1,500 produced by TGE , with this pistol being in first block. 1st Model Naval contract with the first type two-piece non-milled frame with the stock slot filled with metal. Very early production. Imperial Japanese Navy issued pistol. Produced in limited quantities. Usage continued through the end of WW2. Produced by Tokyo Gas and Electric Company under Military contract. "GTE" stamp in circle on the chamber. Model markings , "Type Nambu", on the right over the serial number. Imperial Japanese type A "Anchor" stamp to the rear of these stamps. Two "Kanji" stamps on the left side. "Army Type" Front post/triangle font sight, and tangent rear sights. Knurled bolt cover, serrated cocking piece. Left mounted guide rod. Grip safety on the fore strap. Fore strap is slotted to drop down the trigger group for disassembly. Lanyard swivel mounted on the rear of the fame. Matching serial numbers on frame, bolt, and barrel. Mismatched nickel magazine with aluminum, checkered base, # 5687". Markings highlighted in white. Checkered, contoured grips. Typical Naval rack number on the left grip panel. (Unreadable) Bore appears excellent/bright. Action is crisp/tight. Smooth resent trigger has just traces of the nitre blue finish. Wood grips are very good with two very minor chips. Blued finish is about 96% with some minor edge wear. There are scattered areas of minor spots of pin-prick pitting..nothing serious. Comes with a extra nickel magazine with checkered aluminum base numbered "1991". A really rare, nice conditioned pistol for is age. Russo-Japanese War Era. NRA Condition-Good. C&R firearm.
