Tokyo Juki Kogyo produced Series 27 (associated with Nagoya) Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifles during World War II, later evolving into simplified "last-ditch" manufacturing variants such as this rifle. Swapped out for crude, welded, fixed rear peep sights instead of adjustable ladder or anti-aircraft sights, crude weld on the safety knob, rough stock finishes with visible tool/chatter marks, wooden buttplate and omitted features like anti-aircraft sights and monopod. Chrysanthemum crest stamped on top of the receiver is ground off, matching serial number on receiver, bolt and extractor, internal 5-rd magazine with hinged floorplate. The bore is very good/bright, action works well, wood is very good, sling swivels present and the black finish is mostly all there with handling edge wear. No import markings, vet bring-back. Comes with "last ditch" type 30 bayonet, crude machining, rough grinding marks, simplified wooden grips .Arsenal stamps are completely skipped, thick dull edge, has fuller in blade and hooked quillon. Steel scabbard has many dents and a small crack in it.
NRA Condition-Very Good. C&R firearm.
