This 36” x 36” Giclee is a magnificent addition to any art collection, wherein, it depicts a close-up of a majestic elephant’s face and tusk. The detail is so amazing that you can see the lines in the weathered, leathery skin.
The artist describes his work in the following way:
“The African Elephant is the largest terrestrial land mammal and weighs in at over 6 tons. Evolving with few geographic constraints, elephants ultimately roam across the entire continent and they require immense resources to survive. Today Elephants are faced with an even more daunting obstacle to their survival: Man’s obsession with Ivory. “Tusk” was painted to call attention to the plight of the elephant. The solidarity of the one tusk symbolizes just how quickly they are disappearing from our world. Look closely into his eye and there appears a subtle sadness, look closer and we are faced with only ourselves.”- John Banovich
