U.S. Guide Lamp FP-45 Liberator Pistol .45
'Model 3 3-Hole' WWII era American made single shot pistol chambered in .45 Automatic, manufactured circa 1942. The FP-45 was designed to be an economic way to arm European civilians so they could fight back against the Nazi occupation. The Liberator project was a secretive operation, the "FP" of the code name FP-45 was intended to mean flare pistol and all the components in the blueprints for the gun were given non-firearm related names. During WWII 500,000 of these pistols were delivered to England for dispersion amongst the European countries. The pistols were packaged in wax coated cardboard box with 10 rounds of ammunition, a wood dowel ejector and a set of pictorial instructions. This pistol is finished in-the-white and features stamped steel construction, a 4" unrifled barrel, fixed post front sight, square notch rear sight cut into the breech block, cast cocking knob with fixed firing pin & guide rod, & storage compartment in the grip with a removable plate on the bottom. Pistol exhibits an aged brown patina with some scattered surface rust. The plate on the bottom of the grip appears to be a replacement as is shows no age. Includes a copy of "The Liberator Pistol" by Ralph Hagan. Action is sound and the bore is very good. Condition is NRA Good. ***C&R Firearm***
