U.S. Historical Society Chuck Yeager Commemorative Over/Under Shotgun, #032. 12 ga. 28'' vent rib barrels have 2-3/4'' chambers and feature screw-in choke tubes (five (5) included; M/F installed). Boxlock action with sideplates features single selective trigger, auto ejectors and non-auto safety. Sideplates and balance of receiver, plus triggerguard, top tang and operating lever, have grey finish with elaborate floral engraving around several gold inlays: Yeager's WWII P-51D on the right, a bust of the General and his Bell X-1 on the left, and two eagles on the bottom. Engraving is beautifully executed; both aircraft even have their names ''Glamorous Glennis'' on their noses. Slender forend and pistol-grip buttstock are of Presentation Grade oil-finished walnut, with 24 LPI checkering and checkered butt. Contained in a heavy leather case with extra tubes, wrench and gun sleeves. Also featuring all paperwork including brochure and operating instructions. Mfg'd 1990 by Fili Bertuzzi in Italy for the U.S. Historical Society. Condition is as new, appearing unfired, with no wear. Est.: $4,000-$5,000. (Modern)
