Lot of Two (2) Reproduction ''Thomas Jefferson'' All-Brass Screw-Barrel Single-Shot English Flintlock Pistols, #710A & 170B, in velvet-lined wood case with correct accoutrements, by U.S. Historical Society, .41 cal., 3.75'' round brass barrels are cannon-turned at muzzles and 1'' ahead of breeches, with integral wrench-removal lugs at bottoms; squared brass boxlock frames are floral engraved with ''Dealtry'' within a ribbon on left side and ''London'' on right, and ''crown over W'' oval proof marks on lower tangs, have delicately-shaped center-hung cocks with flints in jaws, sunken oval pans, steel frizzens and springs, silvered trigger guards and early style triggers with curled tails; satin finished one-piece smooth walnut bag-style grips with silver oval wrist escutcheons having entwined ''TJ'' initials, and ''grotesque mask'' buttcaps. The pistols comprise an identical matched pair, both is as new, unmarked and without fault. Actions are strong and smooth; smoothbores are clean and unpolished; doubtless the pistols are unfired. The octagonal walnut case has shaped moldings, inlaid satin-wood bordering, and an oval silhouette of Thomas Jefferson at top-center; it is fully lined in deep-green velvet with a gilt leather lid label, two gilt-bordered leather compartment lids having brass knobs, and partitions for the accoutrements: a bright steel single-cavity bullet mold, brass combination barrel wrench/ramrod, ebony handled turnscrew, working key, and several molded balls. Condition to all is likewise as new, with only minor compression marks to the velvet where the tools lay. This is a beautiful and impressive set of historic pistols. Est.: $900-$1,200.
