RIFLE RECEIVER W/ HAGNER #2 CAVALRY CARTRIDGE POUCH. 1) Stripped Springfield receiver marked only at top rear w/ "7294". S# indicates mfg. in 1874 which would predate the Custer battle. CONDITION: receiver has traces of blue notably at bottom. Balance is turning gray & patina w/ scattered spots of light oxidation. 2) Hagner #2 cartridge pouch. This cartridge pouch was modified at Rock Island Arsenal from .50/70 cal. to .45/70. Pouch is marked w/ embossed "US" on the front flap & has no otherwise visible markings. Pouch contains webbed loops for 24 cartridges. CONDITION: black pouch is heavily worn w/ flexing & scuffing throughout. Stitching holes are visible in flap from strap being moved to bottom of pouch.
