U.S. Model 1816 flintlock pistol in .54 caliber by S. North. The pistol shows S. North with an eagle and Middleton Conn. In upwards curve, with a “P” and U.S. on the left side of the breech and J.N. on theright. The hammer is changed from another U.S. military arm and shows a heart shaped cut out. The frizzen is original and there is no evidence of re-conversion. The wood is lightly re-finished long ago. Correct style wood ramrod. The pistol is in NRA good overall condition with light to moderate pitting and erosion. Est.: $500-$1,000.
