22 CALIBER RIFLE WITH LITSCHERT TARGET TELESCOPE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 19417. Bbl. 24-1/2" marked behind front sight “SA” “flaming bomb” & “7-31”. Rifle is equipped w/ a 20 power R.A. LITSCHERT SPOT-SHOT target telescopic sight with 3/4" tube adjustable, objective lens & micrometer adjustments. Return spring is present. Fine crosshair reticle. Screw in lens caps. Mounted on scope blocks approx. 7-1/4" on center. Front sight comprises fixed Springfield base equipped w/ Lyman interchangeable insert target sight. Receiver markings obscured by scope block but include “U.S.” “Springfield” & S# enhanced w/ white. Bolt handle, receiver & stock have been altered for scope clearance. Receiver drilled & tapped & stock cut for Lyman 48 sight which is not present, holes have plug screws. Bbl. is marked on left side over chamber “LONG RIFLE CART’GE ONLY”. Original trigger replaced w/ unmarked fully adjustable single stage commercial type. Walnut pistol grip stock w/ grasping grooves. Stock is marked on left side in cheek area w/ partial boxed “SA” & “O”. Also marked w/ stamped five and six digit rack numbers plus a “4”. Stamped “1903A3” trap buttplate. Bbl. band is formed from “1903A3” stamped lower band. Milled butt swivel. MAGS: 1-unmarked 5 rd. attachable. CONDITION: stock set has well worn original finish w/ dents, scratches & staining. Right side of buttstock has remnants of yellow painted markings. Rifle bbl. has lg. percentage of refinish blue. Receiver has 70% original dull blue. Bolt is polished bright. Scope has 85% original blue finish w/ light wear & scattered scratches; notable scratches at top rear. Very good shiny bore. (22-4772/RW). CURIO. $1,100-1,600.
