RIFLE W/ MODEL 1905 BAYONET. Cal. 30-06. S# 75117. Bbl. 24" marked behind front sight “R.I.A.” “flaming bomb” & “11-11”. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2850 yards. Dished grooved elevation knob. Lg. flat windage knob. Blade front sight. Rifle likely originally mfg. as a rod bayonet model, then rebuilt. Replacement Model 1903 A3 bolt marked “R” under bolt handle. Safety & mag. cutoff have serif letters. Unmarked walnut stock set w/ 2 recoil bolts. Fine checkered trap buttplate. Handguard has sighting groove & 2 clips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1905 bayonet w/ 15-7/8" blued fullered blade. Left Ricasso marked “SA” “flaming bomb” & “1913”/ Right Ricasso marked w/ “U.S.” & “S#”. Corrugated walnut grips. Model 1910 Khaki canvas scabbard. Scabbard has belt hook sewn-in plain canvas tab. Russet leather tip. Scabbard is marked on front & back w/ “S. J. CATHERINA” & “S.J.C.” Blade has spots of missing blue w/ oxidation & fine pitting. Balance of metal has traces of blue turning gray. Grips are well worn & stained. Canvas scabbard has shrinking at throat & wear & staining throughout. Stitching is tight. CONDITION: replacement stock set has light wear, scratches & handling marks. Notably thin finish in comb area & 2 fine cracks approx. 3/4" behind receiver tang. Metal has worn thinning Parkerized finish w/ spots of light oxidation & scattered handling marks throughout. Trigger has been modified to single state pull. Good shiny bore w/ lightly worn lands. (22-4167/RW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
