PARATROOPER CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 485060. Bbl. 18" marked behind front sight "INLAND MFG. DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 7-43". Receiver markings enhanced in white. Flip type rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Narrow barrel band marked "U". Sling swivel marked "UI". Straight cut slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "AI". Milled (Inland) trigger housing. Push button safety. Mag. catch marked “W.I.” Dogleg hammer marking appears to be “H”. Walnut stock set with correct original folding butt. Stock marked at the rear over grip with encircled “P” proof. Grip marked on right side with worn “crossed cannons” ordnance mark. Markings at lower end of grip are largely obscured from wear. Original leather cheek pad & metal oiler. WWII vintage faded O.D. green web sling. 2 rivet handguard marked “IO”. MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked “S.L.” UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2 pocket web mag. pouch marked with “U.S.” on front & marked on back “AIRTRESS MIDLAND” & “1943”. CONDITION: original finish stock set has thinning finish with moderate wear & handling marks throughout. Forend tip has missing chip on left side extending approx. 1/2" into barrel channel. Metal parts of folding buttstock have original parkerized finish with light wear. Leather cheek pad has scuffing & cracking. Metal has 75% original war time parkerized finish with light wear & scattered handling marks. Very good shiny bore. (22-4131/RW). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
