The 26 3/4" bbls. are fitted w/ dovetail scope bases, popup U-notch rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib w/ doll’s head extension. Maker’s name & address are engraved on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ pre WWI German Nitro proofs for 16 Ga. & 8.8mm. Rnd. bodied underlever action have rifle selector and safety? on top tang. Action is fitted w/ penninsula backspring locks having serpentine rebounding hammers. Action & lockplates are engraved w/ scrolling acanthus which highlights game scenes w/ bugling stag & hind on left side of action, roebuck & doe on right. A pair of ducks are on left lockplate & hares are on right. Rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock of lightly figured European walnut measures 13 3/4" over basketweave horn buttplate. Stock features Tyrolean right hand cheekpiece & retractable sling in butt. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .657", L .657". Restriction: R .017" (MOD), L .025" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .040", L .035". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/2". DAC: 1 3/8". LOP: 13 3/4". CAST: approx. 5/8" off. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 5 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: fair to good. Bbl. & action show overall cleaning to pewter gray. Engraving on action remains good. Scope mounts show later filing. Wood retains some old finish which has mostly lifted & fallen off, leaving dry old surface w/ many scratches & marks. Checkering considerably worn, nearly smooth at grip & w/ smooth patches on forend. All bores are good w/ some scattered light pitting. Locks are good. What appears to be a safety on top tang does not function. Set trigger is operable. Sling will not retract into stock. (22-4960/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
