PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1091987. Bbl. 5" correct Type 18 High Standard. Mfg. 1943 by Pennsylvania company that normally mfg. railroad switches & signals. Rare example of only 55,000 units for Army contract. Type C serrated slide lock rather than Type B checkered; all other correct features for model per Harrison's book, "U.S. Pistols & Revolvers: 1909-1945", including Keyes Fibre grips w/ sm. rings. MAGS: 1 good Scovill 7 rd. w/ "S" on lip as used on US&S pistols. CONDITION: fair, well used appearance w/ mixture of patina, light marks, scratches & cleaned light pitting. Best finished item is grip safety & rnd. portion of bbl. Extremely hand worn grips w/ most wear at butt. Fair plus bore w/ noticeable wear & light pitting.
