SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 1220c. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger mfg. by DWM in 1918 and subsequently retained under the Treaty of Versailles for issue to the Reichswehr. The bbl. extension is marked "1920/ 1918" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs on the right. Toggle exhibits the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Front grip strap is Reichswehr unit marked "3./R.R.10.22.", indicating issue to the 3rd Reiter Regiment. Major metal components are blued, with some smaller components being strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the firing pin and grips, which are unnumbered, as well as the mag. which is mismatched. Bbl. has been crudely sleeved for .30 Luger ammunition at one time. MAGS: 1 - 8 Rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom made period brown leather holster. CONDITION: major metal components retain large amounts of their period arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear that show through to gray and brown patinas having some light surface oxidation overall. Strawed components retain traces of their period finish plus the balance exhibiting age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing overall plus some scattered impressions and nicks from handling and storage. Holster exhibits age related wear, crazing and cracking overall, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (23-5092/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
