RIFLE. Cal. 9.3x57mm. S# 15105. Bbl. 27 3/4". Pre-War sporting rifle built on a Mauser action by an unknown mfg. Top flat of the faceted breech end of the bbl. is marked "Akah", with "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL" followed by the S# and "ZHW" on the left side. Bottom flat is marked with German proofs above "9 m/m" over "7.30/ 213". Receiver features light scroll engraving with matte stippling over the chamber. Trigger guard and floorplate exhibiting matching pattern scroll engraving. Bbl. exhibits a matte wavy line rib. Flat spoon bolt handle exhibits diamond and dot engraving, with some rudimentary checkering at the tip. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Checkered wood pistol grip buttstock features a cheek rest on the left side of the butt, as well as a schnabel tip forend. Ramped German silver beaded blade front sight with 2-leaf flip-up rear sight. Double set triggers. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning that shows through to gray and brown patinas, as well as some scattered areas of mild to moderate pitting overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock exhibits some marks from handling and storage, with a couple of cracks that stem from the upper receiver tang on the wrist.
