PRODUCED BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 1120i. Bbl. 23 1/4". Numbers match on receiver, bolt assembly & stock. The G.24t was a variant of the VZ.24 rifle made for the German army at the former CZB factory at Povaszka Bystrica in Slovakia and assigned the receiver code "DOU". Receiver ring is marked on top w/ "DOU" "42". Marked on right side w/ 2 eagle "480" acceptance marks. Marked on left side w/ German eagle proof. Receiver rail is marked "G.24(t)". Straight bolt handle. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Inverted V front sight w/ Czech style clamp on sight protector. Bayonet bar & cleaning rod are present. H type milled upper band retained by spring. Lower band is VZ24 style w/out bottom swivel but retains side swivel. Laminated stock set. Handguard extends from receiver ring to upper band. Recoil bolt has take down recess. Stock is made w/out relief cut on right side for bolt knob. Buttstock has cup type buttplate. Steel disassembly disk. Morticed for side sling. Buttstock is marked on right side w/ crisp markings. German eagle proof. "H" and 2 eagle "WaA 80" acceptance marks. CONDITION: original finish stock set has light wear, staining & handling marks. Metal retains 50% original thinning blue turning gray w/ light wear & handling marks. Fair worn bore turning dark. PROVENANCE: from the estate collections of Charles P. Obremski. (22-1265/RW).
