GEORGE WASHINGTON HAWKINS FLINTLOCK PISTOLS. Cal. 58. S# 467A & 467B. Approx. 975 mfg. 1976 for the Bicentennial of the United States; reproduction of Hawkins 1748 pistols given to George Washington during the American Revolution. This pistols have brass smoothbore 9" bbls. marked w/ S# & "London" on top. "Hawkins" marked locks w/ half cock safety. Walnut stocks w/ ornate silver finished furniture including grotesque man on buttcaps, fancy clam shell finial engraved trigger guards, pierced patriotic themed side plates, wrist plates, thimbles & single faceted pipes. Rosewood tipped hardwood ramrods. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: walnut display case w/ red velour partitions. Case has very good appearance missing commemorative plaque on lid. CONDITION: near excellent overall appearance of pistols showing a few spots of patina on plated & & fading plated appearance around hammer on lock. Near excellent bores; pistols appear to have not been fired. (01-22966 (2) /MD). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
