Uniform Coat Attributed to Don Porfirio Diaz.

This Dress Coat is constructed of dark black cloth and and has many features. Starting with gold metallic gilded edges including the cuffs, collar, around the button holes, and all edges. On the back: at the level of the belt, large gilded metallic filigree embroideries with two buttons in the center. There is a faux pocket on each side with partially gilded embroideries. The coat tails have on each side an embroidered application representing a silver eagle & amp; snake, with gold floral motifs surrounding and below. The lining consists of a cream-colored linen cloth, padded with machine stitching & amp; filigree embroidery above & amp; below the pockets. The pockets themselves are also machine-embroidered with filigree, showing the letter & #34;R& #34; on the right & amp; & #34;M& #34; on the left. The hems of the coat (buttons-buttonholes) have a green-white-red colored braided stitching along the seam. Gold Buttons: 9 in the front & #43; 6 on the sleeves & #43; 2 in the back & #43; 2 on the shoulders, all carrying an eagle & amp; snake with the inscription & #34;Repulica Mexicana& #34; (Mexican Republic). The 2 buttons on the shoulder have the intials & #34;R & amp; M& #34; on them. Note: These initials are the same as the buttons on the Republic of Mexico General Officer& #39;s full Dress Chapeau that is also in this Auction.

Measurements: The Coat measures 51cm in the front, 102cm in the back, and the sleeves are 61cm long. 

Fasteners & amp; epaulettes: Both heavily gilded in gold embroidery with wire and gold-plated silver thread, with the Silver embroidered Eagle & amp; Snake motif & amp; two-stars indicating the grade of Division General. On the back: Marked & #34;Margue De Fabrique& #34; (trademark) and a drawing of a crown. 

The Dress Pants are constructed of black cloth and features: Gold Gilded trim piping along the pants legs, 4 - Metallic buttons with & #34;Solide& #34; Mfg. Inscription (2-on the back, 2-on the left front side), 2 - Metallic button with & #34; *El Cambio Mercantil *Mexico& #34; (on the right front side,(probably replacements)), 4& #43;1extra - Small buttons (possibly bakelite) are on the front inseam. There is an extra buckle in the back and a small front watch pocket and the lining consists of a striped linen and cotton material.
Measurements: 109cm long and 80cm in the waist.

***Both the Dress coat & amp; pants show light wear & amp; age with a few small moth holes and fraying to the inner lining on the jacket in spots. A few imperfections throughout, but are very minute. Overall in excellent well preserved condition***
