CSMC MODEL 21 SHOTGUN WITH CASE. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4”. S# W38294. This fine company is known for giving their customers anything they want & this good looking gun is a testament to that. It has 30" bbls. w/ fixed modified & full chokes fitted w/ raised matted ventilated rib. Model, manufacturer & gauge information is on top of left bbl. Engine turned bbl. flats are also stamped w/ gauge & chamber information, serial number & proofs. Bottoms of bbls. are marked for chokes. Blued flat side Model 21 action features automatic safety, engine turned flats & breech face, & gold plated single selective trigger. Blued action is mostly plain, but accented by multicolor relief gold inlaid game birds on sides & bottom at rear. A woodcock flits through alders on left side of action, & a ruffed grouse erupts from cover in open woodland on right. Bottom of action portrays a pair of pheasant taking wing from hedgerow w/ barn in background. A quail is flying on triggerguard bow. Fences are deeply carved in acorn & oak leaf motif. Oil finished capped pistol grip buttstock made from a very fine piece of crotch figured American walnut measures 14 5/8” over thin, black “KICKEEZ” pad. Stock is 21-B carved w/ fleur-de-lis motifs & ribbons through pattern. A vacant gold oval is on toeline. Matching braced beavertail ejector forend has inset ebony tip, engine turned internals, & M-21 type J spring & knurled button release. MEASUREMENTS: BORE DIAMETER: left .661, right .661. BORE RESTRICTIONS: left .030 Full, right .018 Mod. WALL THICKNESS: left .031, right .034. DAC: 1 7/16”. DAH: 2 3/8”. WEIGHT: 8 lbs. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather case w/ stitched leather corners has tan canvas leather trimmed outer cover w/ zippered closure. Interior of case is lined in burgundy cloth & has Connecticut Shotgun label in lid. Case contains two piece cleaning rod, snap caps & square oil bottle. CONDITION: exceptionally fine w/ evidence of very light use; retaining nearly all fine factory finishes on wood & metal surfaces w/ only a few very light handling & assembly marks. Bright, shiny bores. Mechanically crisp. Case leather is also very fine as protected by its outer cover, which has some light marks. Zipper works. Case interior shows some minor rubs & light soiling from contact w/ gun. This gun likely cost over $20,000.00 USD when it was made. (21-3563/MGM). MODERN. $10,000-15,000.
