WINCHESTER ADVERTISING REGULATOR WALL CLOCK. Clinton Regulator clock mfg. by the Sessions Clock Company in Forestville, Connecticut circa. 1920. The clock face is marked "ASK FOR" above the Winchester trademark logo and "GUNS AND CARTRIDGES/ MADE FOR ALL KINDS OF SHOOTING", with a boxed "W/ BRAND", followed by a boxed "Sold by All Firearms Dealers" above "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS Co./ NEW HAVEN CONN USA". Bottom of face border is marked "MADE BY THE SESSIONS CLOCK CO. FORESTVILLE. CONN. U.S.A.". Clock body is comprised of oak, measuring 28" from top to bottom and 17" wide, with the face measuring 13" in diameter. Rear panel of clock body retains remnants of its original mfg. label. Glass pane for the clock face features a brass housing, with the bottom pane support arm at the "6" being absent. Brass housing retains 1 of its original brass screws, with the remaining screws being contemporary replacements. Glass pendulum door pane exhibits reverse painted decorative double gold borders, with a red stylized Winchester "W" embellishment present at the center of the pane. Pendulum is covered with an attractive brass plate, featuring decorative foliate motifs. Clock is accompanied by a period brass key. Consignor states that the movement has recently been serviced. CONDITION: Clock body is very good to excellent overall. Brass housing exhibits a pleasing mellow patina, with a few small spots of verdigris, and a small impression on the right side at the "3". Clock face retains vibrant coloring, with some appropriate fading overall and some discoloration to the white background that is synonymous with age. Double borders and stylized "W" on pendulum door pane exhibit some small minor losses, but are otherwise very good overall. An extremely attractive Sessions Clock Company Clinton Winchester advertising clock with a recently serviced movement, that will make for a fine and functional addition to one's collection.
